I went to high school in Wichita and graduated from Wichita Heights High School in 1997. I then began my college career at Butler County Community College where I graduated with an Associate of Arts degree in 1999. I then transfered to Wichita State University to pursue a degree in elementary education. I graduated in 2001 with a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education. After teaching for a few years, I went back to school to obtain a master’s degree. I graduated from Baker University with a Master of Arts in Education in 2006. A few years later, I decided I wanted to become a librarian. I went back to school at Emporia State University and graduated in 2012 with a Master of Library Science degree.
I became the librarian at Robinson in 2012. I love helping students find books that they enjoy reading. I began teaching in the Augusta School District in 2002. My first job was teaching first grade at Lincoln Elementary. While at Lincoln I taught first grade for one year, third grade for two years, and spent seven years teaching second grade. In 2012, I got the opportunity to move to Robinson to be the librarian!
When not at school, I enjoy spending time with my family. My husbands name is Chris and we got married in 2004. We have three children, Sawyer, Kassidy, and Landon. We also have two dogs.
When not teaching, I love to spend time with my family. We love going to the lake and exploring new places on vacation. My kids all play sports so we are busy between the soccer fields, ice rink (both of my boys play hockey), and the baseball fields in the summer. When I have some down time, I enjoy reading books and shopping!
